Project Overview
The aim of this project is to simulate a large-scale destruction scene caused by an object impacting from space. After completing the camera track and integrating the virtual camera into the CG scene, fracture simulations, debris dynamics and particle systems were layered together to create the destruction sequence.
Deep compositing was used in the final integration pass to correctly handle the complex depth relationships between the simulated elements and the live-action background.
