Post Humans — Short Film

Story & Concept
Post Humans is a VFX short film based on the definite man-nature relationship as a struggle for human survival. Established as a real infection for the planet, the film shows mankind's impact on Earth. The viewer is deceived — the "plant" takes on the role of the enemy. The autotroph is clothed with aggressive characteristics atypical of plants, and man tries to put an end to another living specimen.
The story, from a foreseeable finale, ends with a victorious "enemy" — because, sometimes, mankind's supremacy can come to an end.
Post Humans was developed as an academic thesis project for IED Milano (Istituto Europeo di Design). Despite the scale of a short film, it was produced as a solo venture by Giovanni Di Grezia, who undertook the roles of direction, CG, environment construction, camera rig coordination, editing, and sound design.
Production: Giovanni Di Grezia (CG, Direction, Editing, Sound Design), Nunzio D'Amelio (Best Boy, Camera Rigger), Lo Valvo – Fumagalli (Sound Effects).
